For Lichess and Chess.com players

Find the rating points you're leaking.

Stockfish checks your games and compares you with the opponents you actually played. Every leak is priced in rating points, with one habit to fix first and drills built from your own mistakes.

One or both. No sign-up, no password. Your games are public, and the analysis runs in your own browser.

What's in your report

₊₋

Leaks priced in rating points

Not a wall of stats: a short list of what costs you points, and roughly how many. Clock, conversion, openings, blunder patterns, habits.

⚖

Compared with your real opponents

We judge you against the players in your own games, checked by the same engine. A fair baseline that generic "accuracy" scores can't give you.

◎

One focus at a time

One habit you can check at a glance during a game, chosen for points gained and how quickly it can change. Then the next one.

♞

Drills from your own games

Positions where you went wrong, on a board, dealt least recently seen first. Each one has a single right answer.

✓✗

Myths checked

"I tilt after losses." "I'm weaker with Black." We test the usual beliefs against your games, and tell you when they're wrong.

♟

Both sites in one report

Lichess and Chess.com together, every time control, with your openings, clock use and critical moments side by side with your opponents'.

How it works

Lichess, Chess.com or both. We read your public rated games straight from the sites.

  2. 2

    Stockfish checks every move

Stockfish 19 runs on your own device, so it's fast and private. A free scan takes about a minute; a full report a few minutes.

  3. 3

    Get your report and plan

Your leaks in rating points, what you do well, your one focus, a short daily routine and drills from your games.

A real report, shortened

From a 2050-rated rapid player, 621 games. Names removed.

The leak: giving back winning positions

  • Reaches +3 in 67% of games; opponents in 54%.
  • From there fails to win 30% of the time; opponents fail 22%.
  • Doesn't blunder more when winning (8.2% of moves against 8.6%), so it isn't carelessness: it's failing to steady the game once the edge starts to slip.
The habit
When you're winning, play the boring move: trade pieces, take away their active ideas.

The clock

Median clock after move 20 in 10+0: 5:38, opponents 7:27. 2 or more minutes behind in 44% of games. From a level position, scored 37% when 2+ minutes behind against 51% when level on time.

One focus
Until move 20, after a quiet move from your opponent, move within 30 seconds.

Myths, checked

  • Not in your games "I'm much weaker with Black": 51% against 55%, same blunders a game.
  • Not in your games "I tilt after losses": right after a loss, +5.8 against the ratings.
  • Not in your games "My endgame is terrible": level with opponents, 91.5 against 91.7.
  • Your games agree "My first game of a session is my worst".

Questions

Do you need my password?

No. We only need your username. Lichess and Chess.com publish rated games openly, and we read them the same way any game viewer does.

Is this allowed on Lichess and Chess.com?

Yes. Analysing your finished games is normal and allowed on both sites. RatingLeaks never touches a game in progress.

How many games do I need?

At least 20 rated games to start, and the more the better: findings firm up past about 100 games in one time control. We tell you how sure we are about each one.

How long does it take?

The free scan takes about a minute on a laptop. The full report checks up to 250 games and takes a few minutes, a bit longer on a phone. You can use other tabs while it runs.

How can you put a rating number on a leak?

We compare you with the opponents in your own games, in the same situations. If you'd done as well as them, your score would rise by a certain percentage, and 1% of score is worth about 7 rating points on the Elo curve. Where the evidence is thin we shrink the number, and we label each finding by how sure we are.

Do you keep my games?

Your games and the analysis stay in your browser. If you buy, we keep your email, what you bought and a short summary of your report so we can show your progress next month. See the privacy policy.

What if the report isn't useful?

Write to us within 14 days of buying and we'll refund you. See the refund policy.

Are you part of Lichess or Chess.com?

No. RatingLeaks is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by Lichess or Chess.com. We use their public game data.

Your next 100 rating points are already in your games.
